5.6 magnitude quake hits Nepal

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on Richer scale shook Nepal around 5.20 a.m. on Monday, an official of National Siesmological Centre said. The tremors were also felt in north-east India.

The quake with its epicentre in Solukhumbu, near the border of Ramechhap district close to capital, shook Central and East Nepal.

The tremors reminded people of 2015 quake of 7.8 magnitude. People rushed out from their houses and buildings.

No casualty or damage to property was reported.

The great quake of April 25, 2015, killed at least 8,900 people and injured many.

Nepal witnessed series of aftershocks following the great quake.
